Performing a blood glucose test with CONTOUR®NEXT GEN

 

Before starting, ensure the following items are ready

Your CONTOUR®NEXT GEN Meter
2
A CONTOUR®NEXT Test Strip
3
Your MICROLET®NEXT Lancing Device and a Lancet.

How to use CONTOUR®NEXT GEN?*

The key steps to check your blood glucose with confidence.

Step 1

Twist the endcap of your MICROLET®NEXT lancing device to white raised mark with the black mark.

Pull off the endcap.

Step 2

Insert the MICROLET® lancet firmly into the lancing device.

Carefully twist off the round protective cap.

Step 3

Re-attach the endcap.

Then dial to adjust for depth (1 for shallowest and 5 for deepest).

Step 4

Insert the CONTOUR®NEXT test strip after having washed your hands with soap and warm water.

The meter will switch on.

Step 5

Press firmly the lancing device against the side of your finger.

Lance using the release button.

Step 6

Touch the tip of the test strip to the drop of blood.

If the initial blood drop is insufficient, you have up to 60 seconds to apply more.

Step 7

The result is displayed.

The smartLIGHT colour indicator clearly identify if the reading is above (yellow), within (green) or below (red) your target range.
